SEEN is looking for a part-time fundraiser to raise funds through writing grant applications and for organising funds through other fundraising initiatives such as events for SEEN.
Primary Responsibilities:-
To ensure the following:-
- A Fundraising Strategy is developed and implemented to raise sufficient funds to achieve the objectives of the Business Plan
- Good relationships are developed and maintained with donors and volunteers
- Awareness is raised of Seen and services provided
Eligibility Skills
- People management – building relationships with donors, recruit and inspire volunteers
- Marketing – spot fundraising opportunities and raise awareness of organisation’s work including making occasional presentations
- Organisational and IT skills to record and manage information
- Strategic – develop strategy and business plan
- Financial – ability to write budgets and ensure targets are met
- Research fundraising opportunities and write grant applications to charitable trusts or statutory bodies
Person Specification:
Essential:
Fluent English speaker with good written, and verbal communication skills
Self-motivated and resourceful approach to getting the job done
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and to work with attention to detail
Flexible multi-tasker who is able to work independently as well as part of a team
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, Outlook and ideally PowerPoint, Publisher , and Mailchimp
Basic numerical skills to e.g. produce client statistics
Respect confidentiality
Desirable:
- An appreciation of the work that SEEN does
- Previous experience in organising events and fundraising
- Managing volunteers
- Worked for a charity
- Willing to attend training as necessary
Key skills
An interest in, and commitment to, the cause you are raising money for is essential.
Qualifications
Education to degree standard is desirable but not essential
Relevant experience
Experience of working in fundraising for a charity is desirable but not essential
This role requires someone to work up to 11 hours per week. Experience is desirable but not essential. However should be comfortable using Microsoft Office.
